Need support? Join the club
Look no further for valuable healthcare information and support. Deborah Heart and Lung Center offers three exceptional clubs—the Better Breathers Club, the Zapper Club and the Zipper Club—each offering a support and education session. Healthcare professionals with specialized expertise and knowledge present information about a variety of topics—including nutrition; cholesterol, disease and stress management; therapeutic exercises with harmonicas and singing; diagnostic tools; biventricular pacing and defibrillators; medication management; complementary alternative supplemental therapy; Qui-Gong; and diabetes awareness.
The Better Breathers Club is for people who have respiratory conditions that limit their ability to live an active life. Some members come with their supplemental oxygen, and others are fortunate to not require it.
The Zapper Club is for people who have irregular heart rhythms managed with an implanted defibrillator.
The Zipper Club is for people who’ve had open-heart surgery—the incision scar resembles a zipper, thus the name.
If you’re interested in learning more about one of our featured topics, join us for the education session—you’re welcome to join a club or just sit in. For more information or to receive the newsletter, contact Dianna Barker, Patient Care Services, at barkerd@deborah.org or call 609-893-1200 ext. 5309.
