Deborah is honored for healthcare planning
Deborah Heart and Lung Center is dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of our community. It’s gratifying when our hard work not only benefits our patients but also is recognized by our peers.
We’re especially proud to announce that Deborah was recently honored by the Healthcare Planning and Marketing Society of New Jersey (HPMSNJ) with a Society Achievement Award.
The award was presented during the HPMSNJ’s 31st annual meeting in East Windsor. The award recognizes excellence in healthcare planning, marketing and public relations.
The Society Achievement Award recognizes Deborah’s planning initiatives for several years before the opening in March 2010 of the Lourdes Emergency Department (ED) at Deborah.
Through careful planning, Deborah recognized the need for ED services in northwest Burlington County, compiled a strategic plan for a partnership with another hospital, put the project out to bid, chose Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County as that ED partner and executed the planning to bring this new project to Browns Mills. Although owned and operated by Lourdes on the Deborah campus, Deborah was recognized for its role in laying the groundwork for the ED.
The collaboration between Lourdes and Deborah has broken new hospital partnership ground in New Jersey, and has changed the medical model for emergency service delivery to state residents.
“I’m delighted that the HPMSNJ recognized us for the role we played in helping launch the Lourdes ED at Deborah,” says Deborah President and CEO Joseph P. Chirichella. “This project was several years in planning and execution. It’s gratifying to be recognized for the hard work that has ultimately greatly benefited the residents of this part of New Jersey, where additional emergency service care was desperately needed.”
