Ask our physician
I recently went to my doctor and he told me to go to a cardiologist. He's concerned I might need cardiac surgery, and I'm really scared. What are my options?
-Sara K., Whiting
My first words to you are, "Don't panic!" No one wants to hear that he or she has a potential heart problem, but before you worry about surgery, wait to hear what your cardiologist has to say.
Since I don't know the particulars of your condition, it's hard to give a precise answer, but every day we’re performing more and more minimally invasive procedures in Deborah Heart and Lung Center's cardiac catheterization lab.
Many of these sophisticated procedures are quickly surpassing traditional surgical options. My advice is to take a deep breath and make an appointment to see us as soon as possible.
